Custom Glass Shower Enclosures Made for Teaneck Bathrooms

Start with the room, not the catalog. A corner needs two panels. A neo-angle takes three and hangs the door on the cut face. A walk-in leaves the wet end open behind one tall fixed panel. We work out which shape your Teaneck bathroom can actually carry, template the opening by hand, and cut every piece in our Lodi shop. The measure does not cost you anything.

Picking the Shape

Built Around the Pan and the Plumbing Wall

Where the door can swing is the first question, and it settles most of the rest. If the pan sits in a corner with two finished walls, a corner unit works. If that corner is cut on a diagonal, a neo-angle hangs the door on the cut face and picks up the other two sides in fixed glass. A long straight opening usually takes a door hung beside one fixed panel. When the pan runs deep and the head points away from the entry, we can leave the wet end open and set a single walk-in panel.

Nothing gets ordered off a stock chart. We measure the finished opening corner to corner, top to bottom, and check each wall for plumb, because tile runs where the tile runs. Those numbers go straight to our Lodi shop, where the panels get cut out of 3/8 or 1/2 inch tempered safety glass and every notch for hinges and clips is made before the glass is tempered, never after. Choose the finish out of 15. Ask about low-iron ultra-clear glass if the faint green edge bothers you. Fabrication typically runs 1 to 2 weeks, and install is usually one visit.

  • Corner, neo-angle, inline and walk-in footprints
  • Every panel sized off a hand template, never a stock chart
  • Heavy tempered safety glass in 3/8 and 1/2 inch
  • Optional low-iron glass and protective easy-clean coating
  • 15 finishes across hinges, clips, handles and headers

Early-1900s Baths in Teaneck

What a Century Does to a Shower Opening

Much of Teaneck went up in the early 1900s, and the bathrooms are where you feel it. Stately Tudors, center-hall colonials, Cape Cods, and later the split-levels: those houses were laid out around a tub and a sink, and whatever shower exists has usually been rebuilt at least once since. Tile has been added over tile. A knee wall or a boxed-in chase takes a bite out of one side. The opening ends up a shape no stock enclosure was drawn for, which is exactly the shape we template by hand.

Being 12 minutes out helps more than it sounds like it should. The Lodi shop is an easy run down Route 4, so a Teaneck measure gets on the calendar quickly, and if a wall reads odd we can come back and check it instead of guessing. We also handle renovation and multi-family packages, which comes up in the two-family houses around Cedar Lane where an owner is working on more than one bath at a time. Every opening still gets templated on its own, so no unit ends up with the leftover glass. Tell us how many and we will measure them in one trip.

  • Layouts worked around knee walls, chases and short walls
  • Hand-templated for openings that were never square
  • Renovation and multi-family packages for two-family homes
  • Lodi shop about 12 minutes out, straight down Route 4

Frequently asked questions

No, the nearest one is in Lodi. That is 80 Industrial Rd, roughly 12 minutes from Teaneck down Route 4, and the fabrication shop sits in the same building. Hours are Monday through Friday 9 to 5, Saturday 9 to 4. Come in with photos and a few rough numbers and we can go through layouts, glass thickness and finishes at the counter. Midland Park, 108 Greenwood Ave, is farther north and by appointment.

Layout drives it more than anything else. A three-panel neo-angle is a different build from a door and one fixed panel, and from there it moves with glass thickness, whether you want low-iron, and the hardware finish you choose. Nobody can hand you a real number over the phone. We measure at no charge, then put every line of it in writing so you can see what is driving the total.

Usually yes, because we build to the opening instead of forcing the opening to suit the glass. Old walls lean, tile gets added over tile, and floors settle. We hand template the real geometry, then cut panels that follow it and set hardware that carries the weight true. What we need from you is finished, grouted tile to measure against.

Figure 1 to 2 weeks in the shop after we template, and most installs take a single visit. What sets the start date is your tile. It has to be finished and grouted before a template means anything, since a wall still being worked on will move on us. Being 12 minutes away means the measure is rarely what holds up a schedule.

Yes, and it is worth doing together. We can measure every opening in one trip, keep the glass spec and the finish consistent across the units, and line the installs up so the building is disrupted once instead of three times. The two-family houses around Cedar Lane are exactly the case this suits. Tell us how many baths are in play when you call.

Depends on the pan and where the shower head points. A long pan with the spray aimed away from the entry can go with one tall panel and no door at all, which is about the easiest thing in the world to clean. A tighter room holds heat and water better with a door. Standing in the room, we can tell you which of the two it will actually carry.
