Once a shower has more than one open side, a single door will not do it. Corners, neo-angles, inline door-and-panel runs and open walk-ins all need the whole enclosure worked out as one piece of geometry. An enclosure is a set of panels that have to agree with each other. A corner unit turns 90 degrees and needs the two runs to meet cleanly. A neo-angle cuts across the corner on a five-sided footprint, so the angles have to be read off the finished tile, not guessed. Inline layouts pair a fixed panel with a swinging door. Walk-ins skip the door entirely and rely on a single fixed screen.
That is why we hand template instead of working from a sketch. We check each wall for lean, measure the curb or threshold, and set the panel layout around where you actually want to stand and where the water actually goes. Hinge side, header height, notches for a bench or a niche return, all of it gets decided at the measure. Then the glass gets cut once, to those numbers.
Hackensack is the county seat, and bathrooms here get laid out around whatever space the building could spare. In the newer Main Street and riverfront units, baths are compact but modern, and the whole enclosure is usually chosen at once with the tile and the fixtures. There is no honest flat number, because the price moves with the layout, the total glass area, whether you go 3/8-inch or 1/2-inch, the hardware finish, and whether you want low-iron glass or the easy-clean coating. Count on about one to two weeks between the measure and the install while we fabricate your panels in our own Lodi shop, then a single visit to set everything in most cases. Multi-panel layouts and low-iron glass can add a few days, and we will say so at the measure rather than after you have committed. The install date gets scheduled with you.
Not for us, and it is more common than people expect in older Hackensack houses where walls have shifted over the decades. We measure the real angles at the template stage and cut the glass to them, so the panels meet the way they should instead of leaving a wedge you have to caulk shut. Neo-angles get built the same way, off measured numbers rather than an assumed shape.
Yes. A walk-in is a single fixed panel, sometimes with a short return, and nothing swings or slides. It suits a compact modern bath where a door would eat the floor space, as long as the shower is sized and pitched so the water stays put. We look at the head position and the curb at the measure and tell you honestly whether a walk-in works in your space.
Usually not. We build to the tile you have and the hardware lands on it rather than replacing it. Worth knowing: we are a glass company, so we do not tile, plumb or take walls down. If your bath is being renovated, the right order is to have your contractor finish the tile and set the curb, then have us template on the finished surfaces so the glass fits what is actually there.
