Bathtub Shower Doors for Teaneck Hall Baths

The curtain is usually the last cheap thing left in the room. Two ways to change that without touching the tub: bypass panels riding a top track from one end to the other, or one fixed glass screen at the faucet end with the rest left open. Both go over the tub that is already there. We measure your Teaneck bath, build the glass to it, and the measure is on us.

The Hardware Question

What the Track Feels Like in Year Five

A tub door gets used every single day, so the hardware is the part to care about. On a bypass unit, two panels of tempered glass ride a track along the top of the opening and pass behind each other, which means nothing swings into a tight room and either side of the tub stays within reach. The rollers and the track carry that motion thousands of times over. That is where a cheap door starts to drag, stick and rattle, and it is the part we will not cut corners on.

Screens go the other direction and remove the track entirely. A single tempered panel anchors to the wall at the faucet end and to the tub deck below it, and you step in past the open half. There is nothing overhead to clean and nothing to slide. It suits a room where the head sprays toward the wall rather than the open end. Either build gets templated to your actual opening, cut in the Lodi shop, and set with handles, clips and a track finish chosen from 15 options to match the fixtures.

  • Bypass panels on a slim track, nothing swinging out
  • A single fixed screen with no overhead track at all
  • Tempered safety glass cut to your existing tub opening
  • Rollers, guides and handles chosen to last, not to hit a number
  • Track, clip and handle finishes picked from 15 options

The Bath Upstairs

The Upstairs Bath Nobody Renovated

The same floor plan turns up over and over in Teaneck. A center-hall colonial or a Cape Cod, one full bath upstairs, a tub set into an alcove, and a curtain rod that has probably outlived two owners. That bath is not getting torn out. It works, the tub is solid, and somebody uses it every morning. Glass over the tub is the entire upgrade: no tile touched, no fixtures moved, nothing rerouted, and the curtain finally goes in the trash. It is also one of the quickest jobs we do.

Around Cedar Lane, the two-family houses bring a different version of the same job. An owner turning over a unit wants glass that looks sharp, cleans easily and holds up to tenants, and often wants the same thing done in more than one bath. We take those as a package: measure every opening in one trip, keep the spec and the finish consistent, and schedule the installs together. And in a house pushing a hundred years old, the alcove is rarely square, so each opening gets templated on its own rather than assumed to match the last one.

  • Glass over the tub already in the room, no retiling
  • Renovation and multi-family packages for two-family houses
  • Every alcove templated on its own, never assumed square
  • Quiet, single-visit install in most Teaneck baths

Frequently asked questions

The Lodi showroom is your closest stop, 80 Industrial Rd, roughly 12 minutes down Route 4. Push a real track back and forth, compare glass thicknesses by hand, and hold two finishes up against each other. Open Monday through Friday 9 to 5 and Saturday 9 to 4. Call or text (201) 460-1313 before you drive over. Midland Park, 108 Greenwood Ave, is by appointment.

Four things move it: how wide and tall the opening is, the thickness of the glass, sliders versus one fixed screen, and the hardware finish you pick. Glass type matters too if you want low-iron. We measure at no charge and put the whole thing in writing before anyone commits to anything.

Not really, and it is exactly why we template rather than order off a chart. Old alcoves settle, tile gets added over tile, and the two end walls almost never agree with each other. We measure the real opening at the top, the middle and the bottom, then build to those numbers. A box-store door is what fails in that situation, not custom glass.

That part is not ours. Glass is what we make and install, either over the tub sitting there today or as a new enclosure in a space your contractor has already rebuilt. If a bigger change is the plan, get your remodeler lined up first and bring us in once the tile is finished and grouted.

Sliders, in a tight room. Two panels close the opening across the whole deck, so spray has nowhere to go and the tub still works for baths. A fixed screen leaves one end open, which is fine when the head points at the wall and less fine when it does not. Tell us where the head aims and we will call it.

Faster than most glass jobs. After the free measure, the panels are cut and finished in our Lodi shop, generally 1 to 2 weeks, and setting them usually takes one short visit that leaves no dust behind. Teaneck is close enough to Lodi that scheduling the measure is rarely the holdup.
