Check Your AreaA new sliding door, a semi-frameless door or frameless glass can replace it, fitted to the tub as it stands. Semi-frameless keeps slim metal along some edges, while frameless leaves the glass edges bare. At the free in-home measure we check the opening and the tub edge, then put the options that fit into a firm, itemized written quote.
Not a different kind, but a townhouse bath leaves less margin. The tub or shower often sits in one alcove with the vanity and toilet close by, so the door style, the swing and even the handle position get planned around them. If your association sets work hours or other rules for contractors, mention them when you book; we are licensed and insured.
Choose a slider if the floor in front of the tub is tight, and a hinged door if you have room and want a wider entry. A slider stays inside the opening and is a common choice on a tub. A hinged door has no bottom track, so it is simpler to wipe down, but it needs clear floor to swing past the toilet and vanity. We check both against your room at the measure.
Your door is made to the numbers taken at the measure. Once you approve the firm, itemized written quote, your panels go to our Lodi shop to be cut and edged, then out for tempering, because tempered glass cannot be cut afterward. When the glass comes back, our own crew installs it. Your current door can stay in use until then, and we set the install date with you.
Start from what stays in the room, usually the faucet and towel bars. Brushed nickel and polished chrome sit easily beside older fixtures, while matte black and oil-rubbed bronze make the door stand out. A squeegee pass after each shower, because water left to dry is what leaves spots. Clean with a soft cloth and a non-abrasive cleaner, since scouring pads and gritty powders can scratch. A hinged door has no bottom track to scrub, which also helps. For glass that stays wet often, ask about our optional protective coating, which helps water run off instead of drying on the surface.
