There the first move is securing the opening so you can keep operating, and the second is getting the right piece measured, fabricated and set. Both run through our own shop.
Downtime is the number that matters to you, so we plan against it. When we quote, we go through your hours, your heaviest days and how long an opening can realistically be out of service, then set the schedule where the disruption costs you least. Our own crew does the work, never a sub we have to chase. If a landlord, property manager or insurance adjuster is involved, we will document what they need rather than leaving you to relay it.
Downtown Ridgewood is a genuine walking district, and that changes what a storefront has to do. We are not on the avenue, but our Midland Park showroom is close by at 108 Greenwood Ave, Midland Park NJ 07432, about five minutes from downtown Ridgewood and open by appointment at (201) 507-5918. For most commercial jobs it is quicker for us to come measure on site at no charge. We price it after seeing it. Cost depends on the size of the opening, glass thickness and type, the framing already in place and the door hardware involved, and one broken lite is a very different job from a full storefront. You get a line-by-line quote after a free on-site measure. Monthly payment options are available if it helps to spread a larger project out.
It depends on the piece. If the opening needs securing, board-up comes first so you can keep operating, and then the replacement glass is fabricated. A common size moves faster than an oversized or specialty lite. We will give you a real date once it has been measured rather than a guess over the phone, and we will fit the swap into your trading week rather than ours.
We plan the schedule with you instead of turning up whenever suits us. At the measure we ask about your hours, which days are heaviest, when deliveries land and how long an entrance can be out of service, then book the work where it interrupts the least. We will not promise a specific window before we have seen the job, but the schedule is a conversation, not a surprise.
We can replace the glass in the door and adjust or swap the hardware that is making it stick, which on a busy entrance is usually the pivots, closer or bottom rail rather than the glass itself. On an older downtown frame we measure the opening you actually have instead of assuming a standard size. If the frame is past adjusting, we will price a new door and explain why.
