Alpine is a small borough: U.S. Census figures covering 2020 to 2024 put its population at about 1,600, with about 94 percent of homes single-family detached. So few homes sit in multi-unit buildings that a glass project here usually means one house and one set of decisions. If those decisions arrive as an architect's drawings calling for tall fixed panels and low-iron glass, our part is making the design buildable, from our Lodi shop to the last hinge.
The same Census figures place the median build year around 1982, so roughly half the houses date from that year or later. Newer does not mean square: framing can settle, and stone and tile add small irregularities of their own. On a tall 1/2 inch low-iron panel that cannot be cut down once tempered, those fractions of an inch matter, so the final numbers come from the finished opening, measured on site.

Check Your AreaYes. Drawings give us the intent: where panels break, which way the door swings, the glass type and the hardware finish. The glass itself is sized from the finished opening, so final measurements are taken on site once the stone and tile are in, because a tempered panel cannot be trimmed afterward. Have the drawings on hand at the free in-home measure so anything that needs adjusting is caught before glass is cut.
On a large, thick panel it usually is. The iron in ordinary clear glass gives it a slight green tint, most visible at the edges, and a thicker panel shows more of it. Low-iron glass has much less of that tint, so stone, tile and paint colors come through closer to how they look in the room. The difference is easier to judge in person than in photos, so ask to compare the two side by side at a showroom visit.
Through the same doors, halls and stairs you use, so the path in matters as much as the opening. Glass cannot be resized once it is tempered, so if a panel will not make a stair turn or clear a doorway, the design should split it into two panels before anything is cut. At the free in-home measure, walk us from the entry to the bathroom and point out tight turns, low ceilings and narrow doors.
Fixed panels, returns, corner and neo-angle layouts, and steam enclosures sealed overhead with a transom panel. Each piece is measured to your opening and cut and edged in our Lodi shop before it goes out for tempering, in 3/8 or 1/2 inch safety glass for frameless work, with low-iron as an option. The layout, door swing and hardware finish are agreed with you up front, and our crew installs the complete enclosure.
Yes. Wall mirrors are cut to size in our Lodi shop and installed by our crew, whether the wall is for a home gym, a dressing room or a long vanity. A wall wider than a single sheet is laid out in panels with the seams planned ahead, and the layout accounts for outlets and switches. If you want a softer, aged reflection instead of a clear one, the antique mirror line is an option.
