Buy from whoever will template the opening themselves. A frameless enclosure is sold off a measure, and that visit is where swing direction, panel count, thickness and hardware all get settled. The tape comes out first: width at the top, middle and bottom of the opening, height at both ends, curb level end to end, and how far each wall leans. Then the conversation. Which way should the door open so it does not swing into the vanity or a towel bar. Does the layout want a single door, a door with an inline panel, or two panels meeting in a corner. Where will the handle sit for somebody reaching in to start the water.
By the end there is a drawing with real dimensions on it, and that drawing is what the shop cuts from. Photographs of the room go with it, along with notes on the niche, the valve, and anything else the hardware has to miss.
Two things are worth deciding in advance because they are harder to revisit later. The first is hardware finish, since it has to live alongside the faucet, the towel bars and the vanity light for years. Polished chrome and brushed nickel are the safe pairings, matte black is a commitment, and oil-rubbed bronze wants a warm room around it. The second is whether you want a true frameless enclosure or a semi-frameless layout, which uses a light frame on the fixed sides, reads cleaner than a fully framed door, and is simpler to build.
Everything else can be sorted out on site, including thickness, hinge type, and whether a header is needed across a tall opening.

Most can. Shower hinges are commonly set to swing outward with a stop, or to move both ways, and the choice depends on clearance outside the shower and whether the door needs to close against a jamb seal. Outward swing keeps water from riding the door into the room, so it is the usual setup.
Very common, and it is handled at the cut rather than ignored. A fixed panel can be scribed to follow the line, hardware can absorb a small amount, and a sweep can close a modest gap. What matters is that somebody measures the slope end to end before the panel is sized, since tempered glass will not accept a trim.
