Quick answer: Over the past several years, AGM has installed custom shower doors, mirrors, glass railings and back-painted glass throughout Ridgewood, NJ. Below is a tour of recent project highlights — what we built, where, what glass and hardware we chose, and how to start your own project. From our Midland Park showroom on Greenwood Avenue, we're about 5 minutes from Ridgewood.
Ridgewood at a Glance for Glass Projects
Ridgewood is one of Bergen County's most architecturally rich towns — grand Victorians around the central business district, center-hall colonials along East Glen Avenue and the streets west of the train station, and a meaningful contingent of newer custom homes along the western edge near Glen Avenue and Heights Road. The housing stock spans more than 130 years, which means almost every bathroom project involves working around something old — plaster walls, original tile, fluted casing, or a footprint that hasn't moved in eighty years.
The most common glass jobs in Ridgewood are frameless shower replacements in renovated Victorian master baths (often replacing claw-foot setups or curtained tub-showers), heavy custom mirror walls in primary baths and dressing rooms, and glass railings on the renovated open-stair Victorians where homeowners want to preserve the sight lines. Distance from our Midland Park showroom is about 5 minutes via Goffle Road or Franklin Turnpike — most measures happen within a few days. Our Midland Park showroom on Greenwood Avenue is about 5 minutes from the heart of Ridgewood village, which makes in-home measures and follow-up visits easy.
Recent Shower-Door Highlights in Ridgewood
Frameless shower enclosures are still our most-requested service in Ridgewood. Here are three recent installs that illustrate the range — from compact frame-to-frameless replacements to larger architectural enclosures. Project locations are described by general area, not exact addresses.
1920s Victorian Master Bath, East Side
A 1922 Victorian on a tree-lined street near East Glen Avenue had a recent master-bath renovation that needed a frameless enclosure to suit the home's character — but without modernist hardware that would have read wrong against the period millwork. We built a 1/2" clear frameless enclosure with polished-nickel hardware, a 90-degree return panel, and a single inswing pivot door. The hardware finish was the key choice — polished nickel softens the look against original 1920s fluted trim in a way that chrome doesn't.
Center-Hall Colonial Walk-In, West Side
A 1930s center-hall colonial west of the train station had a full primary-bath gut renovation. The new shower is a curbless walk-in with a fixed inline panel and a pivoting door, all in 1/2" ultra-clear (low-iron) glass to showcase the herringbone Calacatta tile inside. Hardware: brushed brass to echo the cabinet hardware. Because the bathroom is on the second floor of a 1932 build, we templated carefully — the walls are off-plumb by about 3/8" over the door height, so the panel and door were cut to compensate.
Steam Enclosure on Heights Road
A newer custom home on the western edge of Ridgewood near Heights Road called for a full steam enclosure in the primary suite — sealed top panel, transom, and proper drip rail. We built it in 1/2" clear with matte black hardware. Steam enclosures are technically demanding because they have to be sealed at the top while still allowing service access for the steam generator; the framing detail at the transom is what makes or breaks a steam install.

Custom mirrors are our second most-requested category in Ridgewood — vanity mirrors, wall-to-wall mirrors in primary suites, and full-wall mirrors in home gyms and dressing rooms. Each is cut from a single sheet (or matched multiple sheets for very large walls) and finished with polished or beveled edges.
Custom Mirror Wall in a Dressing Room
A primary-suite dressing room in a renovated 1928 colonial called for a single wall-to-wall mirror, floor to ceiling — 9'2" tall by 12'6" wide. We delivered it as three perfectly aligned panels with hairline butt-joints, polished edges all around, and bottom Z-clip support hidden behind shoe racks. Reads as one piece from across the room.
Beveled Vanity Mirror with Custom Corner Notch
A 1916 Victorian on Linwood Avenue had a vanity that bumped up against an original window casing. The owners wanted a large mirror but didn't want to stop the mirror short of the casing — so we cut a notch around the trim and finished the entire perimeter with a 1" bevel. The result looks deliberate, like it was designed for that exact wall in 1916.

Other Glass Work in Ridgewood
Two recent railing projects in Ridgewood stand out: a frameless interior glass railing on a renovated Victorian's main staircase (three runs, custom-pierced wood handrail on top, brushed-stainless standoffs into the original 1920s newel post), and a fully outdoor glass deck railing on a newer custom build off Heights Road with 1/2" tempered panels and powder-coated bronze posts. We've also fabricated several back-painted glass kitchen backsplashes for renovated Ridgewood kitchens — soft warm white and deep charcoal have been the most-requested colors in the last two years.

Why Ridgewood Homeowners Choose AGM
Three reasons most Ridgewood projects end up with us: proximity (our Midland Park showroom is about 5 minutes away, which means fast measures and easy follow-up visits), 40+ years of local installations (we've seen every kind of older Bergen County bathroom and we know how to template around plaster walls, out-of-square framing and original tile), and in-house fabrication (we cut and finish glass in our own shop, install with our own crew, and never subcontract). Free in-home measures are standard for every Ridgewood project, with no obligation. Most quotes are returned within one business day of the measure.
