Recent glass projects in Hackensack, NJ

A short tour of recent custom-glass installs in Hackensack — shower enclosures, mirrors, railings, painted glass and commercial work — drawn from the past year of our local calendar.

Town Spotlight · 6 min read · Updated May 2026

Quick answer: This post walks through recent downtown condo bath remodels, period-home enclosures, and a healthy run of storefront and office work we've installed in Hackensack over the past year. Every project below is one our own crew templated, fabricated and installed from our Lodi showroom about 10 minutes away — no subcontractors, no handoffs. For pricing or general services, our Hackensack service-area page is the right starting point.

At a glance — Hackensack glass work

Hackensack is the most varied town we serve — every category we do shows up here in volume. Downtown is condo and commercial; the south side is older residential; the office corridor along Main and around the courthouse keeps a steady commercial pipeline running.

  • Service area: 07601 — the downtown high-rises, Fairmount, the Hospital District, and the streets south of Essex
  • Nearest showroom: Lodi — about 10 minutes from Hackensack
  • Most-requested categories: frameless shower doors, custom mirrors, glass railings, back-painted glass
  • Typical turnaround: two to three weeks from approved quote to install

Shower-door highlights

Hackensack's shower work runs the full spectrum — downtown high-rise condos with tight original baths, 1920s-era Tudors and colonials on the south side, postwar singles with original framed sliders, and an increasing share of new-construction condo primary baths in the riverfront developments.

Frameless inline door in a 1920s south-side Tudor

The primary bath in a 1920s Tudor on the south side had been gut-renovated with new tile but kept the original tight footprint. The owners wanted a frameless enclosure that wouldn't visually block the period casement window over the tub. We installed a single inline frameless door in 1/2″ low-iron glass with brushed-brass hardware, sealed against the existing tile with a slim continuous header clip. Two-week fab and install.

Downtown high-rise condo primary

A downtown high-rise condo primary bath near Main Street wanted a frameless inline door for a walk-in shower replacing a tub. Building rules required a single afternoon's elevator booking and minimal hallway disruption. We pre-staged the panel and hardware downstairs, carried it up in one trip, and finished the install before the dinner window. 3/8″ clear glass with matte-black hinges and pull.

Bypass slider in a Fairmount postwar single

A small primary bath in a Fairmount-section postwar single had a 60-inch tub-shower with no swing clearance for a door. We installed a frameless bypass slider in 3/8″ clear glass on a slim chrome top track. Standard Hackensack solution for tight original tub-shower combos.

Mirror highlights

Mirror work in Hackensack divides between residential vanity pieces and commercial work — gym walls, office accent pieces, retail-fitting-room runs.

Beveled vanity mirror in a Hospital District two-family

A primary bath in a Hospital District two-family wanted two matching 30-inch by 40-inch mirrors with 1-inch polished bevels, anchored above the wall sconces over a double-sink vanity. The bevels catch the sconce light and frame each side without adding visual weight.

Full-wall mirror in a downtown fitness studio

A small fitness studio off State Street wanted a full wall of mirror — 18 feet by 8 feet — for a yoga and stretch room. We delivered the panels in a single afternoon and set them with J-channel anchoring. No frame, polished edges, full-wall flush. The mirror is in the studio's marketing photos within a week of install.

Other glass work

Commercial work is a defining piece of Hackensack's mix. Storefront, conference rooms, restaurant glass and retail accent walls run alongside the residential pipeline.

Conference-room walls in a Main Street office

A professional-services tenant in a Main Street office building wanted four conference rooms with full-height frameless glass walls. Sixteen 1/2″ tempered panels with stainless point-fitting connectors and frameless glass doors at each entry. Two-week fab, evening-and-weekend install to avoid disrupting business hours.

Back-painted retail accent wall

A boutique near the courthouse wanted an accent wall behind its checkout counter that would photograph cleanly. Two large panels of back-painted glass in a custom matched brand color, hidden mechanical fasteners, no visible seams. The wall has been in social-media customer photos for nearly a year.

Storefront replacement after a vehicle strike

A small retail tenant on a busy block needed full storefront replacement after an overnight vehicle strike. We pulled the damaged framing, replaced two anchored mullions, and installed two new tempered storefront panels in a single workday. The entire measure-to-install ran six days.

Why Hackensack chooses AGM

Forty-plus years of doing this from our two showrooms means we've already templated, fabricated and installed in nearly every Hackensack block. The Lodi showroom is 10 minutes from your house — close enough that your measure is usually scheduled the same week you call. A few specific reasons we hear from Hackensack customers:

  • Templating, not measuring. Older Hackensack homes have walls that aren't perfectly square. We template the exact opening on site after the tile is set, so the glass fits the wall as it actually is.
  • One crew, start to finish. The person who templates your bath is the same shop that cuts the glass and the same crew that installs it. No subcontractors, no handoffs.
  • Hydrophobic coating done right. Hard-water NJ etches uncoated glass within one to three years. Our factory-applied hydrophobic coating is multi-year, not the weeks-long retail spray.

Start your project

Two to three weeks from approved quote to glass on the wall is the standard timeline: a free in-home measure within days of your first call, one to two weeks of fabrication, then a single-visit install. Mention Hackensack when you reach out and we'll route it to the right showroom.
