A frameless panel has no frame to absorb error, so the measure is effectively the product. Width is taken at the bottom, middle and top, both walls are checked for plumb, the curb is checked for pitch, and the ceiling gets checked whenever a panel runs tall. Tempered glass cannot be cut or drilled after tempering, which is why estimating the numbers is not an option.
Photographs help with context and settle nothing about dimensions. A picture shows fixtures, tile and general layout, which is genuinely useful for planning, but no photograph reveals whether the left wall leans a quarter inch over six feet.
