Bathtub Shower Doors for Paramus Family Baths

Glass over the tub you already have. We fit bypass sliders that run on a track across the tub deck, or a single fixed panel, a screen, that guards the splash end and leaves the rest open. It is the quickest way to finish a secondary bath in Paramus without a remodel, and the measure at your house costs nothing.

Two Ways to Put Glass Over an Existing Tub

The bypass slider is the workhorse. Two panels ride a slim track anchored to the tub deck and pass each other, so no glass ever arcs out into the room. You pick the track profile and the hardware finish, and the panels are cut to your tub, which is almost never the length a catalog says it should be. Older tubs in particular tend to have dimensions all their own.

A fixed screen is the other route, and it has been winning people over. One panel of heavy tempered glass stands at the shower head end, anchored to the wall and the tub, with the rest of the tub left open to step over. There is no track to scrub and nothing to slide. That same panel style is a popular choice for tub-to-shower conversions once a remodeler has swapped the tub out.

  • Bypass sliders cut to your actual tub length
  • Single fixed screens with no track to clean
  • Tempered safety glass, clear or ultra-clear low-iron
  • Tracks, clamps and handles in 15 finishes
  • Fitted over the tub you have, no demolition

The Second Bath in Paramus

The Primary Got the Shower. The Hall Bath Kept the Tub.

In plenty of Paramus houses the renovation money went to the primary suite, and the hall bath stayed as it was, tub included. That is usually on purpose. Families with young kids want a tub, resale wants a tub, and the original bath is where it lives. So the upgrade there is not a rebuild. It is putting proper glass on what is already in the room and retiring the shower curtain.

Those older tubs are worth measuring carefully. Alcoves in postwar houses settle, tile added later changes the width, and the tub itself can sit a touch out of level, so a boxed door off a shelf ends up shimmed and leaking at one end. We cut to the opening we find. And because nothing is being torn out, most of these installs wrap up in a single visit with the tile and the tub untouched.

  • Suits the original hall bath and the kids' bath
  • Glass over the existing tub, tile left alone
  • Cut to alcoves that are no longer perfectly square
  • Finishes matched to the fixtures already in the room

Frequently asked questions

Not in Paramus itself. The closest is our main showroom at 80 Industrial Rd, Lodi, NJ 07644, about a 10 minute drive, open Monday to Friday 9 to 5 and Saturday 9 to 4, phone (201) 460-1313. Saturday is an easy time to come compare track profiles and finishes in person. There is a second showroom at 108 Greenwood Ave in Midland Park, by appointment, roughly 20 minutes from town.

It depends on the door, and we are not going to guess over the phone. The variables are glass thickness, the width and height of the opening, whether you want a two-panel slider or a single screen, the hardware finish, and glass upgrades like low-iron or the easy-clean coating. The free measure comes first, then a firm itemized quote with everything listed. Monthly payment options are available.

After the free measure, your glass is fabricated to those exact numbers, typically about one to two weeks. The install is usually a single visit, and since nothing is being demolished there is no tile work waiting on us and very little mess. The old curtain rod comes down and the new glass goes up inside that one visit, so plan for a single appointment rather than a run of them.

For a bath the kids actually use, sliders usually win. Two panels enclose the whole tub, so the water stays in when a five year old is involved and there is no open end to splash past. A screen looks cleaner and is easier to keep, but it leaves part of the tub open. If you are still bathing small children, we would steer you to the slider and revisit it later.

No. We fit the glass to the tub you have, and plenty of the tubs we measure have been in the house since it was built. What we look at is the top edge of the tub, whether it sits level, how the tile meets it, and how much room there is for a track or a panel anchor. If the tub is sound, glass can go on it.

Yes, removing the existing door is part of the install. The old frame comes off, the holes and dried sealant get cleaned up, and the new glass goes on. If the tile behind that frame was never fully finished, it shows once the old unit is off, so we flag that possibility at the measure rather than surprising you on install day.
