The Borough of Lodi put our shop in its Business Spotlight

Every week the Borough of Lodi picks a local business and puts it in front of the town on its official page. The Borough's words: the idea is "to help shine a light on the amazing places right here in our community," because supporting local businesses "means supporting our neighbors, strengthening our town, and keeping Lodi thriving."

The week of July 23rd, the business was us.

The Borough made a proper flyer for it, carrying the borough seal, the mayor and council, and our address at 80 Industrial Rd. We did not ask for it and we did not pay for it. Jessica saw it the same way everyone else in town did, by scrolling past it, and left the only comment that seemed right: you guys are the best, thank you for this.

Why a town spotlight means something to a glass shop

Custom glass is not a business you can run from anywhere. Every job starts with somebody physically standing in your bathroom with a tape measure, and ends with two people carrying a heavy, fragile, made-to-order panel up your stairs. The distance between our shop and your house is not a detail. It is most of the job.

That is the part a spotlight like this quietly gets right. We are not a national brand with a Lodi zip code on a contact page. The shop on Industrial Rd is where the glass is actually cut and finished, by the same crew that shows up to install it. When a neighbor a few streets over needs a shower door, the drive is a few minutes, not a dispatch window.

Forty years on the same street

Accurate Glass & Mirror has been doing custom glass in Bergen County for more than forty years. Most of that work is frameless shower doors, which is what people usually know us for, but the shop also turns out custom mirrors, glass railings, tabletops, painted glass and commercial storefront work.

Forty years in one town produces a particular kind of knowledge. We know which Lodi streets have the 1950s capes with the compact hall baths, and how to get a frameless panel into one without touching the original tile. We know which houses have the out-of-plumb walls that a stock door will never seal against. That is not marketing copy. It is just what happens when you stay put.

The Lodi showroom is open Monday through Friday 9 to 5 and Saturday 9 to 4, no appointment needed. You can stand under a real frameless enclosure, compare glass thickness, and handle the hardware finishes instead of guessing from a screen. Our second showroom in Midland Park serves the north end of the county by appointment.
