Westwood is the Hub of the Pascack Valley — a walkable downtown surrounded by older homes set on sidewalk-lined streets. Local housing skews toward homes built between 1900 and 1930 — center-hall colonials, Cape Cods, Tudor Revivals and the occasional grand Victorian — set on sidewalk-lined streets off Broadway, Westwood Avenue and Washington Avenue, and century-old colonial and Victorian baths, downtown commercial storefronts, and Tudor Revival retrofits make up the bulk of our install calendar here. If your own project sounds like one of the case studies below, jump to the Westwood service page or text Jessica from the contact section.

Shower-door highlights
Shower enclosures are our highest-volume category in Westwood by a wide margin. The borough’s housing mix means most of the work is framed-to-frameless replacements in existing bathrooms rather than new construction — though we do both. A few recent installs that show the range:
Frameless in a 1920s center-hall colonial
A 1924 center-hall colonial a few blocks from downtown had been gut-renovated upstairs, with all new tile in the primary bath. The owners wanted a frameless inline enclosure that wouldn't visually block the period casement window over the tub. We installed a single 1/2-inch low-iron inline door with a fixed return panel in unlacquered brass hardware to age in with the rest of the brass in the room. The header clip is custom-bent to follow a half-inch dip in the tile run — invisible at finish, structurally true. Three-week turnaround.
Steam enclosure in a Tudor Revival primary suite
A 1930s Tudor Revival off Washington Avenue had been renovated with a new primary suite addition that included a dedicated steam shower. The original walls in the existing part of the house are seven and a half inches out of plumb floor to ceiling. We hand-templated the new addition to ceiling height, installed a steam-rated frameless enclosure with continuous gasket system and 3/8-inch clear glass, and coordinated with the framer on hinge-blocking placement. The transom at the top vents to the room when steam isn't running.
Bypass slider in a Victorian footprint
A grand 1908 Victorian on a side street off downtown had an upstairs bath the original owners had carved out of a hallway alcove — 56 inches wide, no room for a swinging door. We installed a frameless bypass slider on a top track in oil-rubbed bronze to match the period brass hardware in the rest of the house, in 3/8-inch clear glass. The result keeps the period feel while updating the function.

Most Westwood homeowners don’t realize how dated their builder-grade bathroom mirror looks until they see it next to a single seamless piece of polished mirror. Custom mirrors are an underrated upgrade — usually less than ten percent of the cost of a shower-enclosure project, and they make the whole room read more finished. Recent examples:
Antique-finish hall mirror
The same Victorian wanted a statement mirror at the second-floor landing — not a modern bright reflective surface, but something that felt original to the house. We fabricated a 48×72 antique-finish silvered mirror with a hand-distressed back, polished edges, and hung in an antique gilt frame the owner sourced separately. The mirror reads as if it has been on that wall since the house was built.
Other glass work
Beyond showers and mirrors, Westwood keeps us busy with the full range — glass railings, painted-glass backsplashes, glass tabletops, and the occasional commercial storefront:
Storefront repair on Westwood Avenue
A downtown retailer on Westwood Avenue had a storefront panel damaged after a delivery van bumped the frame. We pulled the damaged tempered panel, measured the existing aluminum framing, fabricated a replacement panel in 3/8-inch tempered storefront glass, and installed within six days from the first call. The shop never had to close during business hours — we did the install on a Tuesday morning before opening.
Why Westwood chooses AGM
Westwood is one of our favorite kinds of work: older homes that aren't being torn down, just thoughtfully updated. A frameless enclosure in a 1920s colonial that respects the rest of the room. A storefront repair downtown that's back open in a week. The walkable downtown means the commercial work and the residential work are doing different things, but the same level of care applies to both. A few specifics that matter: our Midland Park showroom is about 13 minutes from your door, our crew templates and installs every job in-house (no subcontractor handoffs), and the written quote after the free in-home measure is the price — no fees added at install for site conditions we should have caught earlier.
