Quick answer: Over the past several years, AGM has installed custom shower doors, mirrors, glass railings and back-painted glass throughout Franklin Lakes, NJ. Below is a tour of recent project highlights — what we built, where, what glass and hardware we chose, and how to start your own project. From our Midland Park showroom on Greenwood Avenue, we're about 12 minutes from Franklin Lakes.
Franklin Lakes at a Glance for Glass Projects
Franklin Lakes is the largest and most expensive of the towns nearest our Midland Park showroom — a borough of estate-scale custom homes, wooded multi-acre lots, and some of Bergen County's most architecturally ambitious primary suites. Homes here regularly include 200+ square foot primary baths, dedicated dressing rooms, home gyms, indoor-outdoor entertaining spaces, and steam showers. Glass projects in Franklin Lakes are often the most technically demanding ones we run.
The most common glass jobs in Franklin Lakes are heavy 1/2" multi-panel frameless enclosures in primary baths, steam showers with sealed transoms and drip rails, full-wall mirrors in dressing rooms and home gyms, and frameless glass railings — both interior on open staircases and exterior on second-story balconies and pool decks. Estate-scale work is the norm here, not the exception. Our Midland Park showroom is about 12 minutes from Franklin Lakes via Franklin Avenue. Most measures are scheduled within the week.
Recent Shower-Door Highlights in Franklin Lakes
Frameless shower enclosures are still our most-requested service in Franklin Lakes. Here are three recent installs that illustrate the range — from compact frame-to-frameless replacements to larger architectural enclosures. Project locations are described by general area, not exact addresses.
Estate Steam Enclosure off Franklin Lake Road
A primary-suite renovation in an estate off Franklin Lake Road called for a true steam shower — 6'8" tall by 5' wide by 4' deep, fully sealed 1/2" clear glass enclosure with a transom at the top and a drip rail above the door. Hardware: brushed brass. The interior includes a built-in bench, dual showerheads, and a rain head; the glass had to be precisely templated to seal against the marble surround at every joint. This was a two-day install with a six-week fabrication lead.
Curbless Walk-In with Splash Panel on Old Mill Road
A custom build off Old Mill Road had a 200-square-foot primary bath with a curbless walk-in shower — the design called for one fixed inline panel plus a small splash panel returning at the threshold, both in 1/2" ultra-clear (low-iron) glass to keep the white Calacatta tile reading as the primary surface. Hardware: polished nickel. The splash panel is a custom detail you don't see in most enclosures — it solves the water-management problem of a curbless threshold without a full return panel obstructing the entry.
Frameless Inline in a Guest Suite Bath on Pulis Avenue
A renovated guest suite in an estate off Pulis Avenue called for a smaller but still architectural frameless enclosure — a single inline panel with a pivot door, in 1/2" clear glass, matte black hardware. The bathroom is smaller than the primary suite's, but the design language matches: heavy glass, clean hardware, no compromises.

Custom mirrors are our second most-requested category in Franklin Lakes — vanity mirrors, wall-to-wall mirrors in primary suites, and full-wall mirrors in home gyms and dressing rooms. Each is cut from a single sheet (or matched multiple sheets for very large walls) and finished with polished or beveled edges.
Dressing-Room Mirror Wall in a Pool-House Suite
A detached pool-house suite on an estate off Franklin Lake Road had a dressing room that called for a wall-to-wall mirror, 8'6" tall by 18' wide. We delivered it as four full-height panels with hairline butt-joints, polished perimeter edges, and bottom Z-clip support hidden in a shadow gap behind shoe storage. Reads as a single mirror across the entire wall.
Primary-Suite Vanity Mirror with Custom Profiling
A primary-bath renovation in a custom build off Ackerman Avenue called for a vanity mirror with a custom radius at one corner to accommodate a shaped wall detail. We CAD-templated the corner profile and cut the mirror to match — polished edge throughout, including the curved section. Hidden Z-clip mount, no visible hardware.
For mirror specs, edge profiles, and the full process, see our custom mirrors page and our custom mirror wall guide.
Other Glass Work in Franklin Lakes
On the railing side, we installed a frameless interior glass railing on a custom home's open three-story staircase off Franklin Lake Road last year — eleven panels total across three runs, brushed-stainless standoffs, custom-pierced walnut handrail on top. We also fabricated an exterior glass railing for a second-story balcony off the same home — 1/2" tempered panels, bronze powder-coated posts, code-compliant for the 42" balcony height. Several back-painted glass kitchen backsplashes round out recent Franklin Lakes work — the wider wall expanses in estate kitchens make seamless painted-glass panels the natural choice.

Why Franklin Lakes Homeowners Choose AGM
Three reasons most Franklin Lakes projects end up with us: proximity (our Midland Park showroom is about 12 minutes away, which means fast measures and easy follow-up visits), 40+ years of local installations (we've seen every kind of older Bergen County bathroom and we know how to template around plaster walls, out-of-square framing and original tile), and in-house fabrication (we cut and finish glass in our own shop, install with our own crew, and never subcontract). Free in-home measures are standard for every Franklin Lakes project, with no obligation. Most quotes are returned within one business day of the measure.
