Quick answer: Over the past several years, AGM has installed custom shower doors, mirrors, glass railings and back-painted glass throughout Allendale, NJ. Below is a tour of recent project highlights — what we built, where, what glass and hardware we chose, and how to start your own project. From our Midland Park showroom on Greenwood Avenue, we're about 10 minutes from Allendale.
Allendale at a Glance for Glass Projects
Allendale is a 3.2-square-mile borough of split-levels, ranches, and leafy older colonials — with a notable concentration of estate-scale colonials along the wooded streets near the Saddle River border (West Allendale Avenue, Crescent Avenue, Brookside Avenue). The lots are bigger here than in Glen Rock or Waldwick, and the bathroom footprints scale with them — primary baths in the larger Allendale homes often run 100+ square feet.
The most common glass jobs in Allendale are larger frameless shower enclosures in renovated primary baths (often multi-panel layouts with returns or splash panels), oversized custom mirrors in primary suites and dressing rooms, and the occasional exterior glass railing on a renovated deck. We also see steady demand for back-painted glass kitchen backsplashes in the larger renovated Allendale kitchens. Our Midland Park showroom is about 10 minutes from Allendale via Franklin Turnpike. We schedule in-home measures within the same week or sooner.
Recent Shower-Door Highlights in Allendale
Frameless shower enclosures are still our most-requested service in Allendale. Here are three recent installs that illustrate the range — from compact frame-to-frameless replacements to larger architectural enclosures. Project locations are described by general area, not exact addresses.
Estate-Scale Master Bath off West Allendale Avenue
A renovated 1980s colonial on a wooded lot off West Allendale Avenue had a primary-bath redesign that called for a multi-panel frameless enclosure. We built it as a fixed inline panel plus a 90-degree return, joined with a structural notched mitre, with a single inswing pivot door. Glass: 1/2" clear. Hardware: polished nickel. The bathroom is generous enough that the enclosure could be sized to feel architectural rather than minimal.
Curbless Walk-In on Brookside Avenue
A primary-suite renovation in a 1990s custom home off Brookside Avenue called for a curbless walk-in with two fixed panels meeting at a 90-degree structural mitre. Glass: 1/2" ultra-clear (low-iron) to showcase the Statuario tile inside. Hardware: brushed brass. The curbless detail is challenging to template — water has to stay inside without a curb — so we spec'd an exaggerated linear-drain pitch and worked closely with the GC.
Compact Sliding Bypass for an Allendale Powder-to-Full Conversion
A 1950s ranch on a side street off Crescent Avenue had a powder-bath-to-full-bath conversion to add a second full bath on the main floor. The footprint is tight — 30" of clear width — so we installed a frameless sliding bypass with 3/8" clear glass on a top-mounted track, matte black hardware. Compact, modern, and the door swing constraint disappears.

Custom mirrors are our second most-requested category in Allendale — vanity mirrors, wall-to-wall mirrors in primary suites, and full-wall mirrors in home gyms and dressing rooms. Each is cut from a single sheet (or matched multiple sheets for very large walls) and finished with polished or beveled edges.
Dressing-Room Mirror Wall in an Allendale Estate
A primary-suite dressing room in a renovated 2000s custom home off West Allendale Avenue called for a full-height mirror wall, 9' tall by 14' wide. We delivered it as three full-height panels with hairline butt-joints, polished perimeter edges, and hidden Z-clip mounting. Used daily for outfit selection — the homeowner's words.
Primary-Bath Wall-to-Wall Mirror with Sconce Notches
A primary-bath renovation in a 1990s colonial on Brookside Avenue needed a wall-to-wall mirror, 96" wide, with two sconce notches and a single centered medicine-cabinet cutout. Polished edges, hidden Z-clip mount. The sconces are wall-mounted directly into the mirror plane, so the notch tolerances had to be tight — we cut to 1/8" over the sconce flange size.

Other Glass Work in Allendale
We installed an exterior glass deck railing on a renovated patio off Brookside Avenue last spring — six 1/2" tempered panels with powder-coated bronze posts, code-compliant for the 36" deck height. The owners wanted glass specifically to keep the view of the backyard tree line unbroken. We've also fabricated painted-glass kitchen backsplashes in two larger Allendale kitchen renovations — both in deep charcoal, both replacing dated subway tile.

Why Allendale Homeowners Choose AGM
Three reasons most Allendale projects end up with us: proximity (our Midland Park showroom is about 10 minutes away, which means fast measures and easy follow-up visits), 40+ years of local installations (we've seen every kind of older Bergen County bathroom and we know how to template around plaster walls, out-of-square framing and original tile), and in-house fabrication (we cut and finish glass in our own shop, install with our own crew, and never subcontract). Free in-home measures are standard for every Allendale project, with no obligation. Most quotes are returned within one business day of the measure.
