Quick answer: Over the past several years, AGM has installed custom shower doors, mirrors, glass railings and back-painted glass throughout Midland Park, NJ. Below is a tour of recent project highlights — what we built, where, what glass and hardware we chose, and how to start your own project. From our Midland Park showroom on Greenwood Avenue, we're right in town from Midland Park.

Midland Park at a Glance for Glass Projects

Midland Park is a 1.6-square-mile borough of older colonials, classic cape cods and ranch homes built mostly between the 1920s and the 1960s, with a steady wave of recent renovations along Godwin Avenue, Witte Drive and the streets that climb toward the Wyckoff border. The housing stock here is the kind that rewards a templated, hand-fit install — older bathrooms with out-of-square walls, plaster substrates and tile that wasn't laid to modern tolerances. New construction is rare but renovation work is constant.

The most common glass jobs in Midland Park are frameless shower replacements in 1950s and 1960s bathrooms (almost always a frame-to-frameless upgrade), vanity mirrors cut to fit dropped soffits and odd alcoves, and the occasional glass railing on a renovated stair landing. We've also done a steady volume of back-painted glass kitchen backsplashes for owners who want a modern look without losing the home's character. Because our Midland Park showroom is right on Greenwood Avenue, in-town measures are often same-week — sometimes same-day if a homeowner stops in to talk through their project.

Recent Shower-Door Highlights in Midland Park

Frameless shower enclosures are still our most-requested service in Midland Park. Here are three recent installs that illustrate the range — from compact frame-to-frameless replacements to larger architectural enclosures. Project locations are described by general area, not exact addresses.

Frame-to-Frameless Upgrade Off Godwin

A 1958 cape on a side street off Godwin Avenue had the original chrome-framed tub-shower with a sliding panel that had jumped its track twice in the last year. The owners wanted the bathroom to feel modern without changing the footprint. We removed the old frame, templated the opening (the tile wasn't square — most 1950s tile isn't), and built a 3/8" clear frameless inline panel with a pivoting door over the tub deck. Hardware finish: brushed nickel to match the rest of the bathroom. The homeowners said the bathroom feels twice as big without any walls moving.

Walk-In Replacement Near Wortendyke Park

A 1930s colonial near Wortendyke Park had a small original walk-in shower in the primary bath — tiled directly into a plaster wall, no curb, and an old vinyl curtain. The renovation kept the original tile but added a frameless 1/2" clear inline panel with a tall pivot door. Because the curb-less tile pan was original, we templated for an exaggerated header sweep to keep water inside. Polished chrome hardware was specified to match the original fixtures the owners restored.

Small-Bath Sliding Bypass on Center Street

A renovated 1940s cape on Center Street had no room for a swinging door — the vanity sits less than 24" from the tub. We installed a frameless sliding bypass with 3/8" low-iron glass on a top-mounted track with matte black hardware. The owners chose low-iron specifically because the bathroom has only one small window and they wanted the glass to disappear visually.

Recent Mirror Highlights in Midland Park

Custom mirrors are our second most-requested category in Midland Park — vanity mirrors, wall-to-wall mirrors in primary suites, and full-wall mirrors in home gyms and dressing rooms. Each is cut from a single sheet (or matched multiple sheets for very large walls) and finished with polished or beveled edges.

Powder Room Mirror with Beveled Edge

An older Cape on Erie Avenue had a quirky powder-room footprint — the vanity tucks under a soffit that drops to about 7'4". The owners wanted a full-width mirror but didn't want a hard rectangular edge against the dropped ceiling. We cut the mirror to follow the soffit line and finished it with a 1" beveled edge. Soft, but the seam disappears.

Wall-to-Wall Vanity Mirror in a 1960s Bath

A primary bath renovation off Berkeley Heights Avenue called for a single wall-to-wall mirror over a custom double vanity. The wall measured 78" and isn't square (it's a 1960s build). We cut to the actual measurement and installed with hidden Z-clips and a tiny shadow gap at the bottom — looks integrated, easy to wipe.

Other Glass Work in Midland Park

On the railing side, we installed a short run of frameless interior railing on a renovated stair landing near Pulis Avenue last year — three panels, brushed-stainless standoffs, kept the open-stair sight line. We've also done a few back-painted glass backsplashes in newer kitchens around the Hawthorne Avenue corridor — soft white and warm-gray tones are the most-requested colors right now.

Why Midland Park Homeowners Choose AGM

Three reasons most Midland Park projects end up with us: proximity (our Midland Park showroom is right in town away, which means fast measures and easy follow-up visits), 40+ years of local installations (we've seen every kind of older Bergen County bathroom and we know how to template around plaster walls, out-of-square framing and original tile), and in-house fabrication (we cut and finish glass in our own shop, install with our own crew, and never subcontract). Free in-home measures are standard for every Midland Park project, with no obligation. Most quotes are returned within one business day of the measure.
