Quick answer: Over the past several years, AGM has installed custom shower doors, mirrors, glass railings and back-painted glass throughout Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ. Below is a tour of recent project highlights — what we built, where, what glass and hardware we chose, and how to start your own project. From our Midland Park showroom on Greenwood Avenue, we're about 7 minutes from Ho-Ho-Kus.

Ho-Ho-Kus at a Glance for Glass Projects

Ho-Ho-Kus is one of Bergen County's smaller and most architecturally distinct boroughs — stately Tudors, historic Saddle River-influenced colonials, and a concentration of pre-1930 homes along Sheridan Avenue and the streets near the Hermitage. The housing stock skews older and more characterful than the surrounding towns, which means glass projects here tend to involve preserving original millwork, accommodating plaster walls, and choosing hardware finishes that respect period detail.

The most common glass jobs in Ho-Ho-Kus are frameless shower enclosures in renovated period bathrooms (where hardware-finish selection matters as much as glass choice), large custom mirrors in primary suites and entryways, and the occasional glass railing on a renovated open stair. Polished-nickel and unlacquered brass hardware are requested here more often than in the surrounding towns. Our Midland Park showroom is about 7 minutes from Ho-Ho-Kus via Franklin Turnpike. We routinely schedule in-home measures the same week.

Recent Shower-Door Highlights in Ho-Ho-Kus

Frameless shower enclosures are still our most-requested service in Ho-Ho-Kus. Here are three recent installs that illustrate the range — from compact frame-to-frameless replacements to larger architectural enclosures. Project locations are described by general area, not exact addresses.

Tudor Master Bath on Sheridan Avenue

A 1928 Tudor on Sheridan Avenue had a master-bath renovation that called for a frameless enclosure to suit the home's character. We built a 1/2" clear frameless inline panel with a return panel and a single inswing pivot door — hardware is unlacquered brass, which will patina over time the way the home's original brass hardware has. The owners specifically asked for unlacquered: they want the bathroom to read as a 1928 detail done in 2026.

Curbless Walk-In Near the Hermitage

A renovated 1916 colonial in the Hermitage neighborhood had a full primary-bath gut. The new shower is a curbless walk-in with a single fixed inline panel in 1/2" ultra-clear (low-iron) glass — the glass is essentially invisible against the herringbone Carrara tile inside. Hardware is polished nickel; the surround tile and original sash window detail drive the look.

Frame-to-Frameless on Brookside Avenue

A 1950s colonial on Brookside Avenue had the original framed sliding-door tub-shower that had been showing rust at the bottom track for years. The owners did a light bathroom refresh (kept the tile and tub, replaced the vanity and lighting) and asked us to replace the enclosure with frameless. We templated, removed the old frame, and installed a 3/8" clear frameless inline panel with a pivot door in polished chrome hardware to match the existing tub fixtures.

Recent Mirror Highlights in Ho-Ho-Kus

Custom mirrors are our second most-requested category in Ho-Ho-Kus — vanity mirrors, wall-to-wall mirrors in primary suites, and full-wall mirrors in home gyms and dressing rooms. Each is cut from a single sheet (or matched multiple sheets for very large walls) and finished with polished or beveled edges.

Entryway Mirror in a Period Foyer

A renovated 1922 center-hall colonial off Beechwood Road had an entry foyer with a tall, narrow wall opposite the front door — the owners wanted a mirror to widen the space visually. We cut a 7'6" tall by 28" wide mirror with a 1" beveled edge and installed it with brass French cleats hidden behind a wood backer. Reads as a period detail, even though it's brand new.

Vanity Mirror with Custom Picture-Frame Bevel

A primary-bath renovation in a Tudor off Sheridan Avenue called for a vanity mirror that felt like an antique — but had to be cut to exact modern dimensions over a custom vanity. We delivered a 48" x 38" mirror with a 1.5" antique-style bevel on all four sides, finished as a 'picture-frame bevel' that has more visual depth than a standard bevel. Polished edges, no hardware visible.

For mirror specs, edge profiles, and the full process, see our custom mirrors page and our custom mirror wall guide.

Other Glass Work in Ho-Ho-Kus

We installed a frameless interior glass railing on a renovated period staircase near Sheridan Avenue last year — three panels along the upstairs landing, brushed-brass standoffs anchored into the original 1920s newel post and stringer. The brass finish was specified to age in place. We've also done one painted-glass kitchen backsplash in Ho-Ho-Kus in the past 18 months, in a renovated 1930s colonial — soft warm white, single seamless panel.

Why Ho-Ho-Kus Homeowners Choose AGM

Three reasons most Ho-Ho-Kus projects end up with us: proximity (our Midland Park showroom is about 7 minutes away, which means fast measures and easy follow-up visits), 40+ years of local installations (we've seen every kind of older Bergen County bathroom and we know how to template around plaster walls, out-of-square framing and original tile), and in-house fabrication (we cut and finish glass in our own shop, install with our own crew, and never subcontract). Free in-home measures are standard for every Ho-Ho-Kus project, with no obligation. Most quotes are returned within one business day of the measure.
