Pompton Lakes is a tight-knit Passaic County borough wrapped around Pompton Lake, with a walkable Wanaque Avenue downtown and tree-lined streets of older homes. Local housing skews toward early-20th-century colonials, ranches and lakefront cottages — some with mountain views — alongside newer construction and luxury apartments, and older colonial bath updates, lakefront-cottage retrofits, and downtown commercial storefront work make up the bulk of our install calendar here. If your own project sounds like one of the case studies below, jump to the Pompton Lakes service page or text Jessica from the contact section.

Shower-door highlights
Shower enclosures are our highest-volume category in Pompton Lakes by a wide margin. The borough’s housing mix means most of the work is framed-to-frameless replacements in existing bathrooms rather than new construction — though we do both. A few recent installs that show the range:
Frameless retrofit in a 1915 lake cottage
A 1915 lake cottage that had been continuously occupied for over a century had been carefully updated bath-by-bath over the years. The owners were on the last room — a primary bath with the cottage's original 48-inch shower opening. After a century of settling, the opening was over an inch out of plumb. We hand-templated and installed a 28-inch hinged frameless door with a fixed inline panel in 3/8-inch clear glass with oil-rubbed-bronze hardware. The door swings dead-true; the period bath finally has glass that respects it.
Bypass slider in a 1950s lakefront ranch
A lakefront ranch wanted a frameless update without giving up its narrow 56-inch shower footprint. We installed a frameless bypass slider on a slim top track in brushed nickel, in 3/8-inch low-iron glass. The lake-side light through the bath window finally reads true — the old framed-and-tinted enclosure had dulled the room for years.
Steam enclosure in a Ringwood Avenue colonial
A 1922 colonial off Ringwood Avenue was completing a primary-suite renovation that included a steam shower. We fabricated a steam-rated frameless enclosure with continuous gasket system in 3/8-inch clear glass, sealed to the new 9-foot ceiling. The transom at the top is operable for venting between steam sessions. Coordinated with the steam-generator installer over a four-week build.

Most Pompton Lakes homeowners don’t realize how dated their builder-grade bathroom mirror looks until they see it next to a single seamless piece of polished mirror. Custom mirrors are an underrated upgrade — usually less than ten percent of the cost of a shower-enclosure project, and they make the whole room read more finished. Recent examples:
Large entryway mirror in a lakefront foyer
A lakefront home's foyer faced the lake through a wide window, and the owners wanted a large mirror on the opposite wall to bounce the lake view back into the room. We fabricated a 48×72 polished-edge mirror in 1/4-inch silvered, anchored with hidden clips. The reflection effectively doubles the visual size of the lake from the foyer.
Other glass work
Beyond showers and mirrors, Pompton Lakes keeps us busy with the full range — glass railings, painted-glass backsplashes, glass tabletops, and the occasional commercial storefront:
Storefront panel replacement on Wanaque Avenue
A Wanaque Avenue downtown retailer had a storefront panel that had cracked from a thermal stress event during a cold snap. We pulled the damaged panel, fabricated a replacement in 1/2-inch tempered storefront glass, and installed in a six-day turnaround. The shop reopened on schedule the following Monday.
Why Pompton Lakes chooses AGM
Pompton Lakes blends two project profiles in a way that keeps the work interesting. Lakefront homes — many a century old — need careful retrofit work that respects the original architecture. Downtown commercial along Wanaque Avenue needs commercial-grade storefront and partition glass. The newer-construction luxury apartments occasionally pull us in for railings and mirror walls. Three project types in one borough, all out of the same crew. A few specifics that matter: our Midland Park showroom is about 18 minutes from your door, our crew templates and installs every job in-house (no subcontractor handoffs), and the written quote after the free in-home measure is the price — no fees added at install for site conditions we should have caught earlier.
