Recent glass projects in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ

Hasbrouck Heights — about eight minutes from our Lodi showroom — is a town of American Foursquares, Tudors, bungalows and stately colonials. Over four decades we've worked in the original bathrooms of those character homes, plus restaurants and offices along the Boulevard. Here are recent case studies.

Quick answer: Hasbrouck Heights (ZIP 07604) is roughly eight minutes from our Lodi showroom. The borough's tree-lined streets are filled with early-20th-century Foursquares, bungalows, Tudors and colonials, and the bathrooms inside are rarely perfectly square. Most of our work here is hand-templated frameless showers, beveled mirrors for vanity pairs, and the occasional storefront along the Boulevard. The short drive from Lodi means same-week measure availability and quick service callbacks.

For everything we do in town, see the Hasbrouck Heights service page. Below are the highlights of recent residential and commercial work.

Hasbrouck Heights at a glance

Hasbrouck Heights sits on the high ground that gives the borough its name — about 11,500 residents in just over one square mile, bounded by Wood-Ridge, Teterboro and the airport corridor. The housing skews older than many neighboring towns: American Foursquares, craftsman bungalows, Tudors, and tidy colonials. The Boulevard is the main commercial spine, with the midtown-direct bus an easy walk from much of the residential grid.

What that means for glass work: bathrooms with original early-1900s tile that has settled over decades, narrow tub-to-wall openings, and homeowners who care deeply about not destroying the character of their houses. Hand-templating is the only way to fit frameless glass cleanly in spaces like these — and it's how we've always worked.

Shower-door highlights

Frameless inline replacement in a 1920s Foursquare

A Foursquare off Burton Avenue had been gut-renovated through the kitchen and main living areas, but the primary bath kept the original wall tile from a previous renovation. The owners wanted a frameless enclosure that would feel modern without overpowering the period feel of the room. We templated the existing 60″ opening and installed a single inline door with a fixed return panel in 3/8″ clear glass, polished-chrome hardware, and a slim continuous header clip sealed against the existing tile. Two weeks from approved quote to install.

Tub-to-shower conversion in a Tudor on Hamilton

A Tudor near Hamilton Avenue had a cramped half-bath where the previous owner had crammed a 32″ tub the kids had long outgrown. The remodeler reframed the space as a curbed walk-in shower. We installed a fixed-panel-and-door frameless enclosure in 3/8″ low-iron glass with brushed-brass hinges to complement the warm Tudor finishes. The owner had visited the Lodi showroom twice during the design phase to compare clear and low-iron samples in person — the low-iron upgrade was visibly worth it against the cream tile.

Frameless slider for a tight bungalow primary bath

A craftsman bungalow off Terrace Avenue had a 60″ tub-shower combo with a vanity wall that ruled out any swinging door. We installed a frameless sliding bypass in 3/8″ clear glass on a slim top track in matte black, with a matching towel-bar pull. The slider preserves the entire vanity reach while giving the bathroom a much-cleaner look than the original framed slider it replaced.

Mirror highlights

Paired beveled vanity mirrors on the Heights Boulevard

A primary bath on the Boulevard had two undermount sinks and three sconces — two between mirrors and one centered. We cut two matching mirror panels at 26″ × 36″, each with a 1″ polished bevel, hung flush via cleat-and-clip. The owner reported the bath felt brighter the same evening — pairs of bevels on either side of a single sconce kick light around a room more effectively than a single oversized mirror.

Powder-room statement mirror in a colonial

A center-hall colonial off Franklin Avenue wanted a single dramatic powder-room mirror: 36″ × 60″, polished edges, hung tall. We delivered the panel cut to a 1/4″ tolerance and set it with mirror mastic and J-channel. The space went from utilitarian to something worth showing visitors before dinner.

Other glass work

Glass stair railing in a renovated Hasbrouck colonial

A renovated colonial off Field Avenue replaced its dated wood-spindle staircase with a frameless glass railing — 3/8″ tempered panels, top-mounted to a wood handrail with stainless standoffs anchored into the stringer. The staircase visually disappears from the great room, opening sight lines that the owners said they hadn't realized were buried for years.

Restaurant storefront repair on the Boulevard

A restaurant on the Boulevard called us after a winter storm knocked a piece of awning into their storefront panel. We sent a templater the same day, fabricated the replacement in two business days, and installed it after closing so service the next morning was uninterrupted.

Why Hasbrouck Heights chooses AGM

The character-home angle is the biggest one. Owners of a 1920s Foursquare don't want a Home-Depot framed enclosure in a bathroom they've kept original. They want clean, period-respectful frameless glass templated to fit walls that haven't been perfectly plumb in a century. That's the work we've done thousands of times across the Heights, the Lodi side, and the Wood-Ridge corridor.

The second reason is proximity. Lodi is eight minutes away. The templater can be at your door tomorrow. Five years from now when a sweep needs replacing, the same crew is still here to handle it. There's no subcontractor in the chain — we fabricate everything in-house and install with our own team.
